George Humphreys' Signature Model Board. Why the Golden Child? Well, George can do no wrong, especially in the water!

Template - The Golden Child uses the same template as his previous El Gringo Model. This template is Georges' "go-to" whether it be everyday beachies, World Tour Comps or 20 footers out the Right.

Construction - The Kinetic Core / Stringer / Mesh combo should cover all mid-warm climates and allows George to get that extra bit of life out of his boards when constantly hitting big ramps, and landing!

Features - Georges XL Hand and Nose Bulbs, 55/45 Double Rails, CNC Shaped Parrallel Channels

George is 5'10 and 75kg. He rides this model in 41.5"

Size Guide

Suggested Sizing

As a general guide, a bodyboard should go to the rider's belly button. apart from that, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to choosing the correct size board. Generally bigger boards are faster, but not as easy to control, and generally suited to smaller waves and beginners. On the other hand smaller boards are a bit harder to generate speed, however, have greater control and are ideal for bigger waves and more advanced riders.

As a guide, please refer to the table below. If you're a beginner, you are probably best suited to a size in which you fall in the lower end of the weight range. ie. 40kg beginner woudl be best suited to 38", not 36".

Board Size Weight Range
34" <30kg
36" 25-40kg
38" 35-50kg
40" 45-75kg
42" 65-95kg
44" 80-105kg

GH SIGNATURE Template

The Golden Child uses George Humphreys Signature Template. This template is Georges' "go-to" whether it be everyday beachies, World Tour Comps or 20 footers out the Right. This is our most popular template amongst our team riders. It has an average width, with a nice curve that makes it ideal for all conditions.

KINETIC PP CORE (1.9lb)

A lightweight core that is fusion formed, delivering incredible flex properties, including instant recoil, enhanced longitudinal stiffness and awesome compression strength. It is also 100% Waterproof, ensuring it stays nice and light throughout your boards life. Ideal for anyone in mid to warm climates, and extremely durable for those who surf a lot!

STRINGER & MESH

The PP/ Stringer / Mesh combo is the most common construction style used by our team riders. These work together to provide stiffness & recoil both longitudinally and laterally, whilst also increasing durability.

SURLYN SLICK

The slick Pro Bodyboarders demand ! Finest grade authentic Dupont Surlyn™ slick skin. Surlyn™ exhibits rubber-like properties for superior projection. It is designed so as that it has minimal impact on the flex properties of the core.

PE DeckSKIN

The preferred Deck Skin of our Pro Riders as it has less effect on natural flex of the core. Also provides a little more grip than IXL Deckskin.

CrESCENT TAIL

The most popular bodyboard tail. The clipped crescent tail provides the perfect mix of hold, drive and responsiveness when you need it, in all types of conditions

CNC GRADUATED CHANNELS

These channels are constructed using an AKU Shaper Machine. This is the same machine used to create subtle concaves on surfboards, allowing millimetre perfect results.

They are positioned as close to the rail as possible and lightly graduated to give the rider the perfect balance of hold on the face, release when you need it, and speed!

55/45 DOUBLE RAILS

The Double rails enhances both the stiffness and durability of the board while the 55/45 Rail shape allows a touch more rail to be in the water, allowing for greater control.

Signature GH GRIPs

One of George's non-negotiables. This mode features a Hand recess contour combined with Nose Bulbs and Deck Grips ensure a strong grip on the nose of the board.

No gimmicks

After being let down by quad channels and contours I wanted to get back to the basics. By foregoing the aforementioned features, this bodyboard retains buoyancy while maintaining a <56mm thickness, perfect for a slightly bigger guy like myself who still wants a thinner rail to bite into steep waves.
